As a creative who began her studies in London at the University of the Arts London, Hay moved to Glasgow to complete a Bachelor of Arts Honors degree in Fine Art from the Glasgow School of Art. Hay’s pratice has always encouraged labour-intensive processes combinig technology with traditional handmaking techniques to create textile works. Her work explores new ways to translate the human form: rejecting the traditional method of life drawing such as long periods of artist viewing subject. Instead Hay uses shapes to decide the journey a drawing takes, proposing freedom of epression and creative adventure when drawing the human form.
Hay is currently exhibiting a new work ‘And They Touched The Light’ at 16 Nicholson Street, Glasgow until 18 July 2021.
